Project Plumbing

The $400 million Manigurr-ma Accommodation Village constructed at Howards Springs, houses at its peak 3500 fly in- fly out workers involved in the construction and operation of the US $34 billion Ichthys LNG Project.  The 67 hectare Village includes a 50-seat cinema, swimming pool, outdoor beach volleyball court, cardio and spin room, gym, music room, basketball and tennis courts, cricket nets, internet café, shop  as well as a  24/7 medical centre.

Project Plumbing’s scope of works included the design and construction of the hydraulics services including sanitary drainage, main sewer and pump stations, fire hydrant services, water main, LP gas services, hot and cold water services, trade waste drainage and sanitary fixtures and tapware.

A significant sewer infrastructure upgrade was required to service the site and Project Plumbing designed and constructed a new system to cater for this which included two Power Water Corporation Specified sewer pump stations with approximately 2km of large bore gravity sewer and 2km of rising main to connect the site to the adjacent suburb of Palmerston.
